BIOGRAPHY

 

Born in Santa Barbara, Del enlisted in the army after finishing school, and during a tour of duty caught the acting bug after seeing a road company version of the famous Clifford Odets play 'Picnic' in New York. He enrolled in the Pasadena Playhouse where he appeared in more than 30 plays. During this time he won a number of TV guest roles as well as occasional films. In 1961 Irwin Allen offered him the role of Seaman Kowski in film 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea', and later signed him up to play Kowalski in the television series of the same name.. When 'Voyage' ended, Del was offered the role of Inspector Kobick in 'Land of the Giants' which he didn't take. He did however work for Irwin again in an episode of 'The Time Tunnel'. Since then, Del has made many other appearances in shows such as 'The Untouchables', 'Gunsmoke', 'Emergency!', 'Mannix', 'Wonder Woman', 'Dukes of Hazzard', 'The Incredible Hulk', 'Hunter', 'The Fall Guy', and 'Fame'. Most recently Del was nominated for a best actor award on stage.
